Laser Hair Removal
Monterey Bay Laser Aesthetics uses the most advanced hair removal technology to treat unwanted hair on any area of the body where smooth skin is desired. Imagine a laser/IPL so fast, affordable, and effective that it eliminates shaving, tweezing, electrolysis, and waxing! Laser/IPL hair removal can even remedy the discomfort of razor bumps and ingrown hairs.
Is Laser Hair Removal safe? It is FDA-approved as safe and effective for permanent hair reduction. How many treatments will I need? How often? We recommend a series of six treatments with at least four weeks between each treatment.  Results vary, and people with darker and tanned skin tend to require more treatments. Why do I need more than one treatment? Multiple treatments are needed because hair follicles grow in different cycles and the laser targets only those follicles in the active growth phase. How long does a treatment take and does it hurt? It can take as little as a few minutes for the upper lip or up to an hour for full legs with minimal discomfort. What areas can be treated? Any area, except around the eyes. The upper lip, chin, underarms, bikini, legs, chest, and back are some commonly treated areas. What should I expect after treatment? • Immediately after treatment, you can expect a mild sunburn-like sensation which typically resolves within a day. • Any minor discomfort can be alleviated by applying an ice pack. Typically, people resume normal activities immediately following treatment. • After your first treatment, you will return every 4 to 8 weeks. The treated hair may continue to be visible for a few weeks after treatment while they are being expelled from the skin. • Generally, after 4 to 6 visits, most hair in the treated area will be fully removed. The hair follicles that were treated by the laser/IPL will likely never grow back.
