Microneedling
What areas of the body can I treat? Microneedling can be used on more parts of the body, but it is most commonly used on the face. How is the procedure performed?           Prior to the procedure you will be given a numbing cream, which you apply 45 minutes to 1 hour before your scheduled appointment time.  A sterile cartridge containing 12 tiny micro-needles is attached to a “pen-like” device which is gently passed over the treatment area until the surface is covered.  A synthetic growth factor is applied throughout the treatment to enhance the effects. Once the treatment is completed, a cooling gel mask is applied for several minutes.  Our helpful staff will then supply you with post care instructions to ensure comfort and optimal results. What does it feel like? text text text text…………………….. How long does it take? The scheduled appointment time is 1 hour, but the procedure time depends on the size of the treatment area. What is the downtime? Immediately after treatment, you will notice a bright redness to the skin.  The total healing time depends on the number of overlapping passes your skin care professional performs.  On average, patients are red for 2-4 days.  Utilizing post care products can speed up the healing process. When will I see results? After a few days patients notice a “glow” to their skin.  Visible changes to the skin will be noticed within a couple weeks following the treatment.  Results can continue to improve up to 6 months as your collagen production continues. How many treatments will I need? We recommend patients receive a series of 3-5 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart.  For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks, and acne scars, it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6 week intervals.

Microneedling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is a new innovation in aesthetics.  During this procedure, controlled micro injuries are created to aide in the production of collagen and elastin.  The goal is to stimulate the skin’s natural repair process.  This process results in a thicker epidermis with a softer appearance, reducing fine lines and wrinkles.  This procedure also creates channels which allow topical gels, creams, and serums to be absorbed more effectively, enhancing the effects in deeper layers of the skin.
